“It’s not what you can do;
It’s what you do do.
Now go be about that sh*t.”

‘Notes to Self’, a series by william p.

Currently I am working on survival, truthfully. I’m working on being okay with less time for self, while still providing the most of myself to others.

     Somehow three years has passed since becoming a father. I still cannot believe my eyes watching my daughter walk, and run, and converse with such articulation and extensive vocabulary — a little sponge for language, and curious about everything. I am reminded how quickly it all happened tenfold in watching her younger sister learning to pull herself up onto her two feet for the first time, in that moment seeing both of them as the same, at that age.

     Life is very different now, but in the most beautiful of ways. So many projects and endeavors evaporated into dust the second my oldest was born — I just hadn’t realized it yet — and as my family has grown my time priorities have shifted away from supporting myself towards supporting my family, but I’m focused on recalibrating this a bit understanding that I cannot give them my best without being my best.

     This page was always meant to be a mental dump, to clear out the buildup and make way for clarity and focus, so I will treat it as such. I understand now this is an important step to becoming a better father, and husband, because time truly escapes us.
